MOSCOW, Idaho – The home opener for Idaho men's basketball is tomorrow night, with Idaho (0-1) taking on Nicholls State (1-2) at 7 p.m. in Memorial Gym on Tuesday. The game is the first of five straight in the Gem State, with the Vandal Holiday Hoops Showcase coming up next week.

NEW FACES STEPPED UP: The Vandals started three student-athletes making their Vandal debuts in the season-opener last week, and they stepped up to the challenge.
Jared Rodriguez tied
Arkadiy Mkrtychyan for the most points by a freshman in a season-opener since
Don Verlin took over, finishing with 18 points.
Cameron Tyson was close behind with 17 points of his own, including 14 in the first half.
In total, Idaho used seven student-athletes that were making their Idaho debuts, with five making their college basketball debuts.
HOME OPENER: Idaho is 9-1 in home-openers under
Don Verlin.
LAST MEETING: Idaho is 1-0 all-time against Nicholls State after defeating the Colonels in Thibodeaux last season, 79-68.
Trevon Allen and
Scott Blakney saw minutes during the game, but neither scored.
GEM STATE STAND: Idaho will play its next five games in the Gem State. After Tuesday night, Idaho will host Bethesda in Memorial Gym in the first game of the Vandal Holiday Hoops Showcase, before packing up for two games in Boise later in the week. The Gem State Stand ends on Tuesday, Nov. 27, against West Coast Baptist.
