MOSCOW, Idaho-- The Idaho women's basketball team wrapped up preseason play on Friday night, defeating Lewis-Clark State College inside Memorial Gym.
The Vandals had five players score in double-digits and five scoring over five points on the night. Idaho was led by senior
Mikayla Ferenz's 25 points, while
Nina Carlson and
Haley Blankinship added 12 points each. Junior
Isabelle Hadden and freshman guard
Gina Marxen added 10 points apiece, while
Natalie Klinker pulled down an impressive 14 rebounds in the 97-55 win over the Warriors.
The Vandals dominated throughout Friday night's game as they outscored the Warrior in all four quarters. The Warrior found it hard to maintain a consistent groove as the Vandals kept Lewis-Clark under 20 points in each quarter. Idaho's best scoring run came in the second quarter when they went on an offensive spree, 14-0. Despite a short-lived lead by the Warriors early in the first quarter, Idaho never trailed moving forward creating a 42-point win over the Warriors.
Idaho will open up regular season play on Tuesday, Nov 6, when it takes on California State University, Northridge. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. PT inside Memorial Gym.
