@VandalsSoccer Season Comes to a Close

Vandals fall to Northern Colorado in Big Sky semis

OGDEN, Utah – Idaho ran into a physical Northern Colorado side on Friday afternoon in the Big Sky Championship Semifinal, falling to the Bears, 3-0.

"I'm proud of our team and how we played," said head coach Jeremy Clevenger.  "It was definitely a contrast of style, and I thought we played a quality brand of soccer.  We knew they were going to play direct and they were able to capitalize on the chances they had.  But overall I felt we showed up well and had a great season."

UNCO scored a pair of goals in the 23rd minute.  The first came on a counterattack after a Vandal corner, while the second took place just 20 seconds later.  The Bears were able to add another in the second half.

The Vandals had their chances, but were outshot 14-11 on the day.  Hadley Sbrega, an All-Big Sky Second Team selection, had three shots, including two on frame, to lead the team.

Idaho finishes the year at 9-7-3, posting the most wins for a first year head coach in team history.

The senior class leaves the program as the winningest class in team history, with 41 wins during its tenure.
