MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is excited to announce the signing of Julia Hayes of Valley Christian High School in Spokane, Wash. Hayes has excelled in both the high jump and the horizontal jumps.
The high jump is Hayes' specialty and she has a personal best of 5' 7", a mark she has hit numerous times. She took second at the Washington State Championships as a junior in the high jump. She also took second in both the triple jump and long jump at the state meet, scoring a total of 24 points for her team.
Hayes was also a star at the Washington State meet as a sophomore placing second in the high jump and triple jump, and fifth in the long jump. She also placed in three events at the state meet as a freshman. Hayes in total has scored an impressive 48 points for her team at the state championships in individual events. Hayes has personal bests of 34'9" in the triple jump and 16'8.25" in the long jump.
Hayes has also excelled in post-season meets throughout her career. She is a Two-Time USATF All-American in the high jump, the 2018 USATF Regional Champion in the high jump as well, and also won the high jump competition at the UW High School Indoor Invitational and record holder in the in the high jump.
