MOSCOW, Idaho
– The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is excited to announce the signing of Ryan Kline of Central Valley High School in Verdale, Wash. Kline is a highly decorated distance runner who has competed at the national level throughout his high school career.

One of Kline's highest achievements was winning the 4A Washington State title in cross country as a junior, running a personal best of 15:11 on the 5000m state course. During that same season Kline went on to compete at the Nike Cross National meet, he placed 48th in the field of 199 athletes.

Kline followed up his junior year with a very successful senior season. He placed fifth at the Washington State cross country championships this fall. He went on to place eighth at the Nike Cross Regional race in Boise, which helped his team qualify for the Nike Cross National meet once again. He will race at the high school national championship race on December 1st in Portland, OR.

He also has some very strong credentials on the track. Kline has run 9:12.8 for 3200m and 4:16.8 for the 1600m. He placed second at the state championships last spring in the 3200m and 10th in the 1600m.

"We are thrilled that Ryan is joining the Vandal family. He is very passionate about his running and has shown that he can be competitive on a high level. He is also a strong student-athlete and will add to an already talented Distance crew. " -Tim Cawley, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
