Long Beach, Calif—The Splash Sisters, Mikayla Ferenz and Taylor Pierce combined for 50 points in defeat against in-state rival Boise State Friday evening at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif., in the Beach Classic hosted by Long Beach State. Idaho dropped the contest 85-91.
 
Mikayla Ferenz led all scorers with a 30-point performance, a season – high, while the second half of the Splash Sisters, Taylor Pierce, tallied 20 points. Freshmen Hailey Christopher and Janie King added 13 and 10 points, respectively as Natalie Klinker, a sophomore forward, grabbed 11 boards.
 
"It was a great basketball game that came down to the final minute," commented head coach Jon Newlee. "I'm proud of the way our team battled all night. We had some breakdowns in that last minute, but we will learn for those and get better. Congratulations to Boise State on a hard fought victory."
