FORMER VANDAL: Tara VanDerveer (1978-80) began her historic coaching career at Idaho before she went on to become one of only six NCAA coaches to win over 900 games, and one of three NCAA DI coaches- men's or women's- to win 1,000 games. Under her helm, VanDerveer led the Vandals to two winning seasons. Her .750 winning percentage is second in Idaho History. Sunday's matchup will mark the first time VanDerveer has coached against Idaho.
STRENGTH OF NON-CONFERENCE: The Vandals are known for their strong non-conference slate and this year is no different. Idaho has taken on top 25 teams in its history. Never able to pull off an upset, the Vandals look to do just that on Sunday in Maple Pavilion.
LAST GAME RECAP: Idaho opened its season at home on Tuesday with an 88-73 victory over CSUN, the Big West preseason favorite, making that 11-3 (Vandals) on the series. It was business usual from behind the three-point line as the Vandals hit 15-of-28 (53 percent) for that distance. Idaho saw double-figure in
Mikayla Ferenz (24),
Taylor Pierce (23) and
Natalie Klinker (16).
