Idaho set to take on Idaho State

MOSCOW, Idaho--The Vandals begin the final stretch of the regular season on Thursday. Idaho will take on Idaho State for the first time this season. Action returns to Memorial Gym this week. Tip is set for 6 p.m. PT.

The Game: The Vandals will look to make it 10 straight wins on Thursday. Idaho will host in-state rival Idaho State in the first of two home contests this week. 

About The Vandals: Idaho sits second in the Big Sky a half game back of conference-leading Northern Colorado (12-3). The Vandals are on a season-long eight-game winning streak. Idaho has a trio of 1,000-point scorers in Mikayla Ferenz, Geraldine McCorkell and Taylor Pierce. The group has led the team this season in scoring, totaling 72.6 percent of Idaho's points this season (1,351 combined).  

About Idaho State: Heading into Thursday the Bengals have posted a 5-1 record in their last six games. Their last loss came on Feb. 8 at Northern Colorado. ISU sits third in the conference behind Idaho and UNC. 

Last Time Out: Idaho's big three of Ferenz, McCorkell and Pierce led the way at Montana. The trio scored all but four points in Idaho's 67-56 win over the Lady Griz. Pierce and Ferenz took turns claiming the Big Sky's single-season record for 3's. 

Scouting the Bengals
• Picked seventh and eighth in the preseason polls
• Lead the Big Sky with a 45.2 FG% (30th NCAA)
• Also defending team in the conference holding opposing teams to 37.0% shooting
• Allowing the fewest ppg in the conference (61.9)
• Grace Kenyon the lone player outside of Ferenz to have a triple-double this season from the Big Sky
• She is fourth in the conference with a 50.2 FG%
