MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho's men's and women's cross country teams have both been recognized by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their hard work in the classroom with the USTFCCCA Team Academic Awards.
The women take home recognition for the third consecutive season, while the men are earning their second straight. To be recognized, teams must post cumulative GPAs of 3.0 or better.
Both squads put up the second highest cumulative GPAs in the conference, behind Weber State. The women finished with a team GPA of 3.70, while the men finished at 3.34. The Idaho women were one of seven Big Sky teams represented, while the men were one of eight.
In all, 423 team were recognized, including 228 women's programs and 195 men's programs.
Both the men and the women competed at the 2017 NCAA West Regional in Seattle this past season, with the men placing 12
th out of 30 teams and the women finishing 14
th out of 36.
