Rematch with EWU Set for Friday

The Vandal women play the first leg of the doubleheader

MOSCOW, Idaho--The Vandals close their three-game homestand on Friday with a rematch against Eastern Washington. The Idaho women open the night at 5 p.m. and the men's game wraps up the doubleheader. 

TV:  Sam Adams (play-by-play for both games) will be joined by Michelle Clark (color) for the call.

Hoops for Hope: Help Vandal women's basketball raise awareness and support for those affected by cancer, this Friday at 5 pm, at our Hoops for Hope event. In partnership with the Gritman Medical Center, we'll be holding a silent auction featuring a number of great items, including shooting shirts with your favorite players' numbers on them! Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Light a Candle program. In addition, all survivors will get in free and additional tickets can be purchased for $8. Come support a worthy cause and cheer on the Vandals!

The Game: Idaho looks to extend its current winning streak to seven games on Friday. Idaho has not lost since its last meeting with Eastern Washington.



About The Vandals: Idaho is in a three-way tie for second in the Big Sky and a half game back of conference-leading Weber State (8-2). The Vandals are on a season-long six-game winning streak. Idaho has a trio of 1,000-point scorers in Mikayla Ferenz, Geraldine McCorkell and Taylor Pierce. The group has led the team this season in scoring, totaling 72.4 percent of Idaho's points this season (1,168 combined).   

About EWU: The Eagles have put together a 4-2 record since the last meeting on Jan. 12. EWU has its last two contests (Sac State & Portland State) after losing two on the road at North Dakota and Northern Colorado.

Last Time Out: Three Vandals hit double figures and Idaho tied a season-high with 101 points in the 35-point win over Sacramento State. Mikayla Ferenz led the team with 23 points and Geri McCorkell recorded her 14th career double-double. 

Scouting the Eagles
• Delaney Hodgins passed her sister, Hayley, as EWU's all-time leading scorer (1,906)
• Hodgins is second in the league with 20.8 ppg
• Symone Starks leads the Big Sky with 3.13 steals per game (13th NCAA)
• The Eagles are 17th in the nation with 11.2 steals per game 
• EWU leads the Big Sky with 4.3 blocks per game
