Vandals Take on UC Davis to Open WNIT

Idaho will open the tournament on Thursday

DAVIS, Calif.--Idaho opens postseason play on Thursday, traveling to UC Davis for the first round of the WNIT. Game time is 6 p.m. PT.

The Game: Idaho returns to the WNIT for the first time since the tournament's resurrection in 1998. The Vandals won the WNIT in 1986. Overall, this marks Idaho's eighth postseason appearance and fifth in the last six seasons.

About The Vandals:
Idaho closed the Big Sky season as the conference's No. 2 seed. The Vandals have won 13-of the last-16 games, including a pair of wins over Montana State and Portland State to advance to the Big Sky Championship. The Silver and Gold has a trio of 1,000-point scorers in Mikayla Ferenz, Geraldine McCorkell and Taylor Pierce. The group has led the team this season in scoring, totaling 73.0 percent of Idaho's points this season (1,758 combined).  

About UC Davis: The Aggies won their second Big West regular season title, going 14-2 in the conference. They were the No. 1 seed in the Big West but were upset by CSUN in the championship game. The Aggies made a run to the Sweet 16 of the WNIT last season.

Last Time Out: Idaho fell one win short of the NCAA Tournament, falling to Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Championship. Geri McCorkell led the Vandals with 20 points.

• Ninth in the NCAA with a 38.9 3FG%
• Ranked No. 13 in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll (Mar. 6)
• Jennifer Gross voted Big West Coach of the Year for second consecutive season
• Morgan Bertsch was All-Big West First Team
• She is fifth in the NCAA with 262 FGM
