@VandalsWBB Set for Semifinals

Idaho will take on No. 6 Portland State

RENO--The No. 2 Idaho Vandals take on the No. 6 Portland State Vikings in the day's second semifinal matchup. The winner will take on either No. 5 Idaho State or No. 1 Northern Colorado for the Big Sky Tournament championship on Saturday.

TV: The semifinals and championship game will be televised on Eleven Sports. Ann Schatz and Krista Redpath will have the call. 

The Game: Idaho continues its run in the Big Sky Tournament on Friday. The No. 2 Vandals will meet up with the No. 6 Portland State Vikings. The game will be the third meeting between the two schools.


About The Vandals: Idaho used a nine-game winning streak to fly up the Big Sky standings. The Vandals finished as the No. 2 seed in the Big Sky. Idaho has a trio of 1,000-point scorers in Mikayla Ferenz, Geraldine McCorkell and Taylor Pierce. The group has led the team this season in scoring, totaling 72.8 percent of Idaho's points this season (1,629 combined).  

About Portland State: The Vikings have two wins under their belt this week in Reno. They opened with a 77-61 win over NAU and then defeated Eastern Washington 82-73 in quarterfinal play. 

Last Time Out: Idaho opened the Big Sky Tournament with a 78-74 win over Montana State. Mikayla Ferenz (27) and Taylor Pierce (21) led the scoring for the Vandals. Pierce regained control of the Big Sky's 3-point record, moving her total to 302.

• Sixth in the NCAA with a 78.2 FT%
