Idaho men's golf is set for its final tournament before the Big Sky Championships. The Vandals will travel to the El Macero Classic hosted by UC Davis Friday through Sunday, at the El Macero Country Club, in El Macero, Calif.

THE COURSE: The tournament will take place at El Macero Country Club. The course will play as a par 72, covering 7,138 yards. The club was founded in 1961 and serves as a qualifying site for several USGA events.

THE FIELD: Idaho is one of 13 teams in the field, including tournament-host UC Davis. The rest of the teams are Air Force, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Grand Canyon, Omaha, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Sacramento State, TCU, No. 12 Texas Tech and No. 24 UCLA.

STEADY MARIN: Junior Enrique Marin has posted Idaho's lowest score in 23 of the 27 rounds played this season. Marin is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay, earning him his fourth Big Sky Men's Golfer of the Week Award this season. VANDAL HISTORY: The El Macero Classic used to be known as the Winchester Classic, played in Meadow Vista, Calif. Former Vandal Jarred Bossio took home medalist honors at the inaugural tournament in 2012.

LOOKING AHEAD: The Big Sky men's golf teams will converge on Boulder City, Nevada, at the end of the month for the 2018 Big Sky Championships. The tournament runs April 27-29, at Boulder Creek Golf Club. This is the fourth conference tournament since men's golf was reinstated as a sponsored sport by the Big Sky. Idaho has won two of the previous three league titles, winning in 2015 and 2016. Head coach David Nuhn was named Big Sky Coach of the Year in 2016.
