RESULTS
MISSOULA, Mont. – The regular season came to a close on Friday at the Tom Cage Classic, hosted by Montana. Several Vandals earned top-five finishes on the day, with the team using the meet as a final tune-up ahead of the 2018 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships presented by Red Lion Hotels Corporation which takes place in Moscow next week.
Rikki McCaw was strong on the day, winning the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 22.24 seconds. The time moves McCaw up in the Big Sky rankings, where he is now inside the top-25. McCaw also finished second in the 100 at 11.08 seconds.
Hannah Ringel also took an individual win, taking the shot put competition with a toss of 12.71 meters (41-8.50).
Kaylee Hove earned second in the 200-meters with a time of 25.62 seconds.
Zachary Short finished third in the discus at 50.16 meters (164-7).
Emily Wesseling placed fourth in the 1500-meters at 4:55.61, while
Makenna Behrens also finished fourth, in the javelin, with a toss of 39.81 meters (130-7).
Nicole Carter took fifth in the 100-meters with a time of 12.64 seconds, and
Hana Tyndall placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.43 seconds.
Now the team prepares for the Outdoor Championships, taking place at the Dan O'Brien Track on Tuesday-Friday next week.
