LAS VEGAS, Nev. – It was an exciting summer for Vandal basketball, with four of the program's top alumni participating in the NBA Summer League.
BRAYON BLAKE – CLEVELAND CAVALIERS
Blake got out to a slow start with the Cleveland Cavaliers, sitting out the first game, but came alive as the tournament moved on. He saw 16 minutes of playing time in game two, scoring six points and adding five boards and two steals against the Bulls. He connected on his first professional 3-pointer in Cleveland's 96-84 win over Sacramento in the first elimination game, finishing that night with five points in 11 minutes.
Blake and the Cavaliers advanced to the semifinals before eventually falling to the Los Angeles Lakers. On the week, he averaged 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest while playing 10.5 minutes per night. Blake had a great week off the court as well, signing his pro deal with Löwen Braunschweig in the German Basketball Bundesliga.
JEFF LEDBETTER – SAN ANTONIO SPURS
Ledbetter got his Summer League season started in Salt Lake City. He played in all three games for the Spurs, averaging 9.3 points per contest while shooting 53 percent from the floor. His best performance came in game two, against the Atlanta Hawks, when he 3-of-5 from beyond the arc to finish with 16 points. He also added five assists and two steals.
Ledbetter's best game in Las Vegas came in game two, with the Spurs defeating the Washington Wizards, 95-90. Ledbetter finished the game perfect from the floor at 4-of-4, and 3-of-3 from beyond the arc, with 11 points and three assists. He averaged 6.2 points, 2.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds per contest in Las Vegas.
VICTOR SANDERS – DENVER NUGGETS
Sanders saw time in a pair of contests for the Denver Nuggets in Las Vegas. His first action came in game three, when he played 14 minutes and scored two points, to go along with two rebounds and an assist.
He earned the start in Denver's final game, playing 25 minutes. He shot 4-of-11 from the floor and finished with eight points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks. He was the only Nugget to finish with a positive plus/minus.
MIKE SCOTT – CHICAGO BULLS
Scott, who last played for the Vandals in 2014-15, appeared in three games for the Chicago Bulls in Las Vegas, averaging 1.3 points over five minutes per game. His best outing came in Chicago's 95-83 win over the Dallas Mavericks, when he went 2-of-5 from the floor and finished with four points.
