RENO, Nev.
– The wait is almost over for Idaho soccer and first year head coach Jeremy Clevenger, as the Vandals head to Reno to take on the Wolf Pack of Nevada at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at the Moana Springs Sports Complex.

FOLLOW: Fans can follow the Vandals all season long on Twitter, @VandalsSoccer.  All home contests will also be streamed live through the PlutoTV app and at WatchBigSky.com.

Friday night's game will not be streamed, but fans can follow along with the live stats at GoVandals.com/SocStats.

LAST TIME OUT: The Vandals are looking to bounce back after a down season in 2017.  After winning back-to-back Big Sky Regular Season Championships in 2015 and 2016, Idaho stumbled early in 2017.  The squad got out to a slow start in conference play, beginning the year at 1-5-1, before bouncing back to sweep the final three games of the season in dramatic fashion.  Despite the strong close to the year, the Vandals finished in a four-way tie for fifth in the league standings, and missed out on the postseason due to tiebreakers.

MATCHUP: Idaho is 5-5-0 all-time against Nevada, and has won three straight in the series.  These two teams met last year, but Nevada was struggling through a string of injuries and only fielded a team of nine players at kickoff.  The Vandals won on that day, 6-0.  Prior to that game, the two teams had not met since the 2011 season, when both were members of the WAC.

NEW COACH: The Vandals will be led by their fifth head coach in program history, Jeremy Clevenger.  Clevenger took over the program in July.  He brought with him a talented staff, including Sean Mapson, a former Division I head coach at Mississippi Valley State, and Nicole Randall, a former player under Clevenger and an accomplished coach in her own right.

FAMILIAR FACES: Despite the coaching changes, the Vandals remain as consistent as ever.  Idaho returns 10-of-11 starters and 18 letterwinners from last year's roster.
