BOISE, Idaho – It's back on the road for Idaho soccer, with a 12 p.m. (PDT) kickoff at in-state rival Boise State on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT: Idaho opened up the regular season on Friday night at Nevada, falling to the Wolf Pack 1-0. The game got physical early, with neither team able to put much together in the first half. Nevada was the aggressor in the second, taking control for much of the final 45 minutes. The Vandals were able to stand tall until the final minutes, when they gave up a penalty in the 87
th minute.
MATCHUP: Idaho is 5-11-2 all-time against Boise State, including a 2-7-1 mark in Boise. Idaho's last trip to Boise was a successful one, as the Vandals defeated the Broncos, 1-0, on a goal from
Kavita Battan.
The last meeting was one for the ages, with 4,171 fans packing the south side of the Kibbie Dome for the first game played indoors. The Vandals needed every second of the 90 minutes, with
Kelly Dopke scoring the equalizer with 0.4 seconds remaining in regulation.
FIRST WIN TOUGH TO COME BY: Jeremy Clevenger is Idaho's fifth coach in program history, taking over the team in mid-July. Clevenger dropped his first game with the Vandals, on Friday night at Nevada, 1-0.
Of Idaho's previous four head coaches, just one was able to win in his opener. Arby Busey won his first contest with the Vandals, defeating Boise State, 2-1, in Boise. Busey was also the only Vandal head coach to win his first meeting with the Broncos.
Of the other three head coaches, two won their second games with the Vandals, while one coach dropped his first nine contests with the silver and gold.
