MOSCOW, Idaho – The Big Sky season is upon us, with Idaho soccer (3-5-1) returning home to take on Portland State (2-5-0) at 7 p.m. in the Kibbie Dome on Friday. The game will be the annual Spirit Night, with prizes for the biggest groups in attendance.

LAST TIME OUT: Idaho fell at Oregon, 2-0, to close out non-conference play. The Ducks got on the board early, scoring in the 11
th minute, and doubled its lead late in the first half.
Julia Byerlein made her Vandal debut in the second half, making five saves and keeping Oregon off the board for the final 45 minutes. She was called on three times in the last 10 minutes, making clutch saves for the Vandals.
MATCHUP: Idaho is 7-5-0 all-time against Portland State, including a 4-2-0 mark in Moscow. Since joining the Big Sky, Idaho is 2-2-0 against Portland State.
The Vandals dropped the meeting last season, 2-1 in the Dome. Portland State took the 1-0 lead late in the first half.
Megan Goo leveled the score in the 62
nd minute, but the Vikings reclaimed the advantage just over one minute later and escaped with the 2-1 win.
NATIONAL RANKINGS: Idaho is ranked 113
th in the first edition of the NCAA RPI. The Vandals are the top-ranked team in the Big Sky, with Northern Colorado just behind at 116.
