OGDEN, Utah – Idaho volleyball (8-7, 2-1) ran into a tough Weber State (7-5, 2-1) squad on Thursday night in Ogden, falling to the Wildcats in four sets.
Sarah Sharp led the Vandals with 12 kills.
Reece Carman added 11 kills, while
Kaela Straw chipped in with 10.
DeVonne Ryter finished the night hitting .438 with eight kills and three total blocks.
Idaho took an early lead in the first before Weber State came roaring back. The Wildcats took over midway through, and eventually took the first set 25-19.
The second set went back-and-forth early before the Vandals were able to take an 18-15 lead. Weber State took over from there, going on a 10-3 run to take the set, 25-21.
The intermission served the Vandals well, as Idaho came out on fire in the third. The Vandals got up 6-1 early and maintained from there. Despite a late rally from the Wildcats, the Vandals won the third set, 25-22.
Weber State took control to start the fourth set. The Vandals were able to chip away at the lead to make it 16-13, Wildcats, but Weber State turned things up and went on a big run to put it away and take the match with a 25-17 set win.
