RESULTS
LEWISTON, Idaho – Idaho cross country closed out the regular season at the Inland Empire Championships in Lewiston on Saturday morning. The women dominated the race to win the team title with 19 points. The Idaho men came in second with 55 points.

"I thought both teams ran fantastic today," said director of track and field/cross country,
Tim Cawley. They ran with a lot of confidence and ran as a team. We're in a good place headed into conference in a few weeks. I thought this was a great race that showed everything is moving in the right direction and there are good things to come."

The women dominated the event. After Aimee Piercy, running unattached, took the individual title, three Vandals came next.Â
Kelsey Swenson led Idaho with a time of 17:27 to take second.Â
Nathalia Campos and
Malaina Thacker were right behind in third and fourth, respectively, in 17:29.

The Story sisters came next, in seventh and eighth.Â
Kara Story finished seventh in 17:44, while
Krista Story was eighth in 17:47.

Dwain Stucker was the top finisher on the men's side, taking 6
th overall in 23:46.Â
Ben Shaw was next for Idaho in 11
th with a time of 24:15.

A trio of Vandals came next.Â
Drew Schultz placed 13
th in 24:18,
Tim Stevens was 14
th in 24:20 and
Ryan Kline was 15
th in 24:20.

Idaho will rest up now, with three weeks remaining until the 2019 Big Sky Cross Country Championships.
