MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho football returns home to take on No. 4/No. 5 Weber State in the Big Sky home opener.  Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. inside the Kibbie Dome on Sat., Oct. 5.  The game will be televised on SWX and streamed live on the PlutoTV app.

ABOUT IDAHO: The Vandals (2-3, 0-1) dropped their Big Sky opener at Northern Colorado last week, 27-24. The Idaho running game was impressive, led by freshman Nick Romano who went off for a career-high 132 yards and his first career touchdown. In the end penalties and turnovers proved to be too much to overcome.

Jeff Cotton still leads the Big Sky in receptions per game (8.8) and yards per game (103.8). Tre Walker leads the conference in tackles per game at 11.2.

ABOUT WEBER STATE: The Wildcats (2-2, 0-0) enter the game as one of the defenses in the nation. Last time out, Weber State defeated No. 9 Northern Iowa in Ogden, 29-17. The Wildcats also defeated Cal Poly in a non-conference game earlier in the season, 41-24.

As a team, the Wildcats lead the Big Sky in passing yards allowed per game (202.3). They are also ranked 10th in the nation and first in the Big Sky in scoring defense, allowing just 16.5 points per game.

GROUND GAME STRONG: Idaho's group of running backs continues to impress in 2019. Last week, freshman Nick Romano became the third Vandal to break 100 yards in a game this season, joining Aundre Carter and Roshaun Johnson. It's the first time in at least a decade that three Idaho running backs recorded a 100-yard game in the same season.

THIRD DOWN STOPS: As a team, Idaho leads the Big Sky and is ranked eighth in the nation in 3rd down defense. The Vandals are stopping their opponents 72.3 percent of the time on 3rd down.

DOUBLE DIGIT WALKER: Tre Walker has now recorded double-digit tackles in four consecutive games. Walker is the first Vandal to do so since Tony Lashley recorded at least 10 tackles in four consecutive games during the 2017 season.
