HILLSBORO, Ore. – Idaho soccer closed out the season in style on Sunday afternoon, defeating Portland State, 1-0, in the final game of the year.
Malia Morales was the hero, heading in a corner from
Maddie Haas in the 75
th minute to take the win. It was Morales' first career goal.
Julia Byerlein, making her final appearance as a Vandal, made five saves to record her first career shutout.
The Vandals close the season at 5-12-2, including a 2-5-2 mark in Big Sky play. Portland State finishes the regular season at 4-14-0 and 3-6-0 in conference and will enter the Big Sky Tournament as the No. 6 seed.
