MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is thrilled to announce the signing of Deyondre Davis of South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Wash. Davis is a nationally ranked hurdler.
Â
Davis won the 110-meter hurdles at the WashÂington State Track & Field Championships last spring as a junior. He also finished third in the 300-meter hurdles at the state meet. His showing as a sophomore at the state championships was also impressive. He placed second in the 110-meter hurdles and was third in the 300-meter hurdles. As a freshman he qualified for the state meet in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles. Davis was also a member of a 4 x 400m relay team that placed sixth as state for South Kitsap. He has personal bests of 14.05 in the 110-meter hurdles and 37.77 in the 300-meter hurdles.
Â
The amount of experience Davis has at the club and Junior Olympics level is extensive going all the way back to his grade school days. This last summer Davis raced well into the summer with success. He placed third in the USATF National Junior Olympic ChamÂpionships in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.21.
Â
Davis is an incredible all-around athlete, he has played football and wrestled for South Kitsap High School before turning his attention to his first love, track & field.
Â
"We're excited to have Deyondre join the team. He is a talented hurdler who is just coming into his own. He will also help the team in the classroom as he is a great stuÂdent." –
