MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho football closes out the 2019 season at Northern Arizona on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. MT from the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome and will be televised live on Your Phoenix CW. The game will also be streamed live on PlutoTV, channel 539.
Â
ABOUT IDAHO: The Vandals (4-7, 2-5 BSC) fell at home last week to No. 6 Sacramento State, 31-7. The Hornets controlled the ground game and made use of exceptional field position to take the win. The Vandals also recognized their class of 11 seniors, playing in the final game in the Kibbie Dome.
Â
ABOUT NORTHERN ARIZONA: The Hornets (4-7, 2-5 BSC) dropped a close on last week, 31-30, at Southern Utah. Case Cookus had a strong night, going 32-of-44 for 325 yards and a touchdown. George Robinson led the way on the ground with 91 yards on 12 touches.
Â
SAYING GOODBYE: Idaho will officially say goodbye to its 11 seniors on Saturday. The class currently has 21 wins, tying last year's class for the most in recent history. The class that wrapped up its playing time in 2001 had 22 wins over four seasons, including a nine-win campaign and a Humanitarian Bowl win in 1998. The previous class, which finished playing in 2000, won 26 total games over four years.
Â
CLOSING STRONG: Idaho fell in the season-finale last season, at No. 13 Florida. Prior to that, Idaho had been able to close its seasons in the best way, with three straight wins in season finales. In 2016, the Vandals closed out the year with the 61-50 win over Colorado State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
Â
PRESEASON PROJECTIONS: Idaho entered the season projected to finish in eighth, as voted on by the coaches and the media. The Vandals currently sit in a tie for eighth, and could rise as high as sixth with a win and other favorable results.
