MOSCOW, Idaho - The University of Idaho Track & Field program is excited to announce the signing of Lorenz Herrmann of Landau, GermaÂny. Herrmann is a national level competitor in Germany and a very talented middle-distance athlete.

Herrmann has consistently placed high at national competiÂtions in Germany. He was fourth in the U20 National ChampionÂships in 2019 in the 800m. He also placed fourth in the National Youth Championships in 2015 and in 2017 in the 800m as well. He was sixth in the Indoor Youth Championships in 2018 in the 800m. He was part of a 3 x 1000m relay team that won at the U23 Championships this last season. In competitions more at the local and state level he has had success as well. He placed first at the Southgerman Indoor Championships in the 800m in 2018 and placed second in the 800m outdoors in 2017. He has multiÂple Federal State Champion performances in the 400, 800, and 1500m over the years.

Herrmann has personal bests of 49.24 in the 400m, 1:51.30 in the 800m, and 3:58.08 in the 1500m. Despite the all the success and fast performances Herrmann has posted, he has a vast amount of potential he looks to continue to tap into as he eyes taking his talents to the United States and the NCAA.
