SCOUTING IDAHO

Idaho hits the road again for the seventh time this season and the sixth consecutive game away from Moscow, to face the South Florida Bulls of the American Athletic Conference.

The Vandals traveled to San Diego last Wednesday and defeated the San Diego Toreros 65-32. Idaho held San Diego to just 32 points, the lowest point total of the season and the least amount of points allowed to an NCAA Division 1 team since 2007. The 32 points was the second fewest allowed all-time to an NCAA Division 1 opponent on the road since the first-ever game in 1975 when the Vandals held Washington State to just 27 points.
Idaho enters this matchup 4-3 overall on the season and 3-1 on the road. The only true road loss of the season came by way of Oklahoma State on November 5th.

Idaho is led by Gina Marxen who was named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week by the conference office and College Sports Madness following her career-high 30-point performance at Seattle U earlier this season.

Marxen leads the Vandals with 13.3 points per game and is also averaging a team-high 3.7 assists per game. The sophomore point guard also leads the Big Sky Conference in minutes per game (37.0) and three-pointers made (19).

Along with Marxen, freshman Beyonce Bea put on a career performance at Seattle with 27 points, 12 rebounds and four assists a few games ago. Bea leads the Vandals on the boards this season with 7.3 per game and is averaging in double-figures offensively with 12.1 points per game.

Lizzy Klinker led the Vandals with a season-high 20 points and nine rebounds last time out against San Diego on 8-11 shooting from the floor. Klinker is part of three Vandals averaging double-digit points, with 11 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Caitlyn Jones chipped in nine points off the bench last time out and is averaging 6.8 points per game this season behind Marxen, Bea and Klinker.

As a team this season the Vandals have been most successful against its opponents on the perimeter. Idaho is the number one team in the country in three-point percentage defense and is holding opponents to an average shooting percentage of 19.5 percent from beyond-the-arc, ranking first in the Big Sky and NCAA.
The Vandals are holding its opponents to a Big Sky second-best 58.0 points per game.

SCOUTING SOUTH FLORIDA

South Florida enters the matchup 6-4 on the season and 6-0 at home following a 80-29 win over Alabama State last Friday. The win over ASU snapped a three-game losing streak by the Bulls after five wins in the first six games, including four straight to open the season.

For the Bulls two players are averaging double-digit points this season. Elena Tsineke leads the way with 12.6 points per game while Bethy Mununga isn't far behind 10.4 points per game. Mununga also leads the Bulls on the boards with 9.5 per game.

On average, South Florida is outscoring its opponents by 13.6 points per game. The largest margin of victory for the Bulls was the 80-29 win over Alabama State.

South Florida has excelled at three-point shooting this season, leading the AAC in total three-pointers (81) and three-pointers made per game (8.1).
