Ferenz Earns Second Straight Weekly Honor

Senior collects second consecutive College Sports Madness Big Sky Conference Player of the Week award

MOSCOW, Idaho— For the second week in a row, Idaho women's basketball player Mikayla Ferenz nabs the College Sports Madness Big Sky Conference Player of the Week, the publication released Monday.

Ferenz helped the Vandals to its second consecutive 2-0 week, and six straight wins overall, by breaking records individually and collectively. In Idaho's 76-68 revenge win against Montana, the senior posted 23 points, which led her to becoming the all-time scoring leader in Vandal basketball history on Thursday. She then followed up with a 32-point performance on Saturday as the Vandals blew past Montana State, 90-65. With six triples on the night, Ferenz aided the Vandals in topping the team record for most threes made in a game with 19.

The Ann Meyers Drysdale award candidate, averaged 27.5 points on 20-of-41 (48.8 percent) shooting from the field and 10-of-24 (41.7) from the arc in 71 minutes of play.

Ferenz and the rest of the Vandals return to the court Saturday to face Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. for a 1 p.m. (PT) tilt.
