CoSIDAÂ RELEASE
MOSCOW, Idaho— Senior guard
Mikayla Ferenz was selected to Google Cloud Academic All-District First-team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
Â
Ferenz, a Mathematics major, holds a perfect 4.00 GPA and ranks seventh in the nation with 2,235 career points. She is the only Big Sky student-athlete represented among the first-team all-district recipients.
Â
This is the third time Ferenz has been honored as an all-district selection. She was a first-team recipient her sophomore and junior year. Last year, she became the second Idaho student-athlete to receive the Google Cloud Academic All-America award.
Â
With only three more weeks of the regular season, Idaho holds a 14-9 overall and 11-3 conference record as it sits atop of the league standings tied with Portland State. The Big Sky Championship Tournament is set to begin March 11 through the 16 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho.
Â
The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Â
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
