OGDEN, Utah – Zachary Short has brought in another Big Sky recognition, earning Male Field Athlete of the Week honors for his performance over the weekend.
Short won the shot put competition at the WAR XII in Spokane in dominant fashion. His best throw of 18.79 meters (61-7.75) was more than 2.5 meters better than the second place finisher.
The throw is the best of the outdoor season for Short, who already leads the conference in the event. Short's mark also moves him into 18
th in the West Region and 25
th nationally.
Idaho track and field splits up this weekend for a pair of meets, with the Triton Invitational (La Jolla, Calif.) and the Pelluer Invitational (Cheney, Wash.). The 2019 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships start exactly one month from today.
