Fall Camp Wraps for Idaho Football

The Vandals return to the practice field Sunday and the classroom Monday

08/24/2019

MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho football closed out its 2019 fall camp Saturday, with a short morning practice before earning the afternoon off. Throughout the 24-day camp, the Vandals held 20 practices – including two scrimmages and a mock game – and near-countless team and position meetings.

"You never get everything done that you want, but coming out of camp I'm pleased," said head coach Paul Petrino. "Guys that were new got a ton of reps and understand the system way better. Our overall effort, attitude and toughness improved greatly. I like the chemistry of this team and I like the leadership of this team."

The Vandals will be back on the field Sunday, for the first game-week practice of the year, and back in the classroom Monday, as the fall semester gets underway.

Idaho opens the 2019 season Saturday (Aug. 31) at Penn State. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT and will air on the Big Ten Network. The Nittany Lions are ranked in the top 15 of both national FBS polls. Idaho is receiving votes in the AFCA FCS Coaches' Poll.

Idaho's first official depth chart will be released Monday, with the weekly game notes. The two-deep is expected to include as many as 20 student-athletes who are yet to make their Vandal debut.
