MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball has finalized its 2019-20 roster just in time for classes to get up and running, adding Michael Hanshaw and Isaac Berglund.
 
"We are fortunate to add both Michael and Isaac to our program," said Zac Claus, interim head coach.  "They each bring tremendous qualities, both in the classroom and on the court.  We have every confidence that they will have a positive impact on the team from day one."
 
Hanshaw, a 6-8, 210 lbs. forward, joins the Vandals after spending last year with the Basketball Training Institute (BTI) Selects, an AAU program in Southern California.
 
He averaged 11.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as a senior at Westlake High School.  A more traditional forward, Hanshaw shot 61 percent from the floor and did not attempt a 3-pointer in high school.
 
Collegiate athletic success runs in the Hanshaw family.  Michael's younger brother, Bentley, plays football for BYU.  His father, Tim, also played at BYU and went on to play three years with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL.
 
Berglund joins the team after playing for Deer Park High School in Washington.  There, the 6-2, 185 lbs. guard became the first league MVP selection in program history.  He averaged 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists per game as a senior, earning first team all-league accolades.
 
He had a breakout season as a junior, when he averaged 22 points, nine boards and seven assists.  Berglund was a three-time academic all-conference selection in high school.
 
The Vandals now boast a roster of 16 headed into the season.  More information on the 2019-20 schedule will be released in the coming days.
