RIVERSIDE, Calif. – First half woes were a problem again on Sunday afternoon for Idaho soccer in a 2-0 loss at Cal Baptist.
Ari Coronado gave the Lancers a 1-0 advantage in the 36
th minute on a shot from just outside the top of the box. The Lancers doubled their advantage in the 60
th minute. Amy Aquino was able to find the bottom left corner.
Avrie Fox made five saves in the loss. The Vandals were outshot 23-9, including 7-2 in shots on goal.
Kaysie Bruce led Idaho with five shots.
Sidney Schmidt and
Taylor Brust each picked up yellow cards.
The Vandals drop to 2-6-0 on the year. Idaho has now lost five straight, its longest streak since 2014. The Vandals have just two games remaining in non-conference play, beginning at Oregon State on Thursday afternoon. The team returns home to take on North Dakota on Sunday at 1 p.m.
