Men’s Cross Country Ranked Regionally

NEW ORLEANS – Week one rankings are out and the Idaho' men's cross country team is one of the biggest risers in the nation.  The squad currently ranks 11th in the West, after opening the season unranked.

The Vandal men have not been ranked this high in at least a decade.  Full records for weekly rankings currently date back through the 2010 season.  Idaho's previous best recorded ranking was 12, coming at the end of the 2011 and 2017 seasons.  Last year, the men got as high as 14th in the West region.  Idaho is the only ranked Big Sky team in the West.

Idaho has competed twice so far this season, both locally.  The Vandals took second behind Gonzaga at the season-opener, and third behind the Bulldogs and Washington State last weekend.  Gonzaga is currently ranked seventh in the West, and WSU is ranked ninth.

The Vandals will take the weekend off before heading to the Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by Oregon, next weekend.
