MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho soccer got back to its winning ways on Sunday, defeating North Dakota 2-1 in the Kibbie Dome to close out non-conference play. The Big Sky portion of the schedule gets going on Friday night with Montana coming to town for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Idaho got on the board first, scoring 20 minutes in. The Vandals executed a corner to perfection, with
Maddie Haas finding
Emmy Moore's head for the great finish.
North Dakota changed things up for the second half and saw some success with the extra forwards. The Fighting Hawks would eventually break through in the 85
th minute on a goal from Cassie Giddings.
The Vandals locked in for the final five minutes, looking to avoid overtime. They found their game-winner with about two minutes to play on a long-range shot from
Juliana deTar to steal the win.
Big Sky play begins on Friday night at 7 p.m. against Montana in the Dome. The Vandals will then host Northern Colorado on Sunday afternoon.
