MOSCOW, Idaho – It's finally back home for Idaho volleyball (4-8) with Big Sky play set to start on Thursday. The Vandals open against the Portland State Vikings (4-7) on Thursday at 6 p.m., then face the Sacramento State Hornets (5-8) at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Memorial Gym.

MILESTONES: Head coach
Debbie Buchanan won her 300
th career match over the weekend. The Vandals took down Omaha in five sets to open play at the Grand Canyon Classic.

BIG SKY: Idaho enters Big Sky play at 4-8 overall. Only three Big Sky programs, Weber State, Northern Arizona and Southern Utah, came out of non-conference play above .500.

BIG SKY STATS: Idaho currently ranks second in the Big Sky in blocks per set at 2.55.Â
Kyra Palmbush is third in the conference in hitting percentage (.380) and
Kennedy Warren is fifth in kills per set (3.12).Â
Donnée Janzen is fifth in the Big Sky in assists per set at 9.3.

HOME SWEET HOME: Idaho has been tremendous at home over the last two-plus seasons. Since 2017, the Vandals are 18-5 in Memorial Gym.

DEFENDING CHAMPS: Idaho tied for the conference lead last season, earning its first Big Sky Championship since rejoining the league. The Vandals finished the regular season at 15-3 and took the No. 2 seed into the Big Sky Tournament.
