Vandals Open 2020-21 Season

MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho swim opened up the 2020-21 season with four wins in five events against Seattle U. in the UI Swim Center on Friday night. The Vandals outscored the Redhawks 55-38 on day one.
 
Competition continues throughout the weekend. Session two begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, while session three starts at 5:30 p.m. The fourth and final session begins at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
 
The Vandals got things started with a strong win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, taking the race by more than five seconds. Rylie Jones, Kaling Phung, Natalie Crocker and Katie Hale dominated, winning with a time of 3:29.34.
 
Jones and Hale each added an individual win as well. Jones won the 100-yard fly in 56.17 seconds, while Hale took the 50-yard free in 23.30 seconds.
 
Alexa Teneyck also earned an individual win. She took first in the 1000-yard free by nearly seven seconds, finishing in 10:27.90.
 
Competition continues on Saturday.
