MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track and Field program is excited to announce the signing of Landon Peterson of Onalaska High School in Onalaska, Wisc.

Landon is a Wisconsin State Champion in the 300m hurdles, which he impressively achieved as just a sophomore in the 2019 season. He did not have a 2020 season, like many, because of Covid-19. Landon has a personal best of 38.71 in the 300m hurdles. At the 2019 Wisconsin State Championship meet, Landon was also fourth in the 110m hurdles and fourth in the long jump as well, scoring 20 points for his team. He has personal bests of 14.72 in the 110m hurdles and 23 feet 2.75 inches in the long jump. Landon was also the Mississippi Valley Conference Champion in the triple jump with a mark of 42 feet nine inches. He won the long jump, 300m hurdles, and 110m hurdles as well to win four events at his conference championship in the 2019 season. His marks from the 2019 season are ranked in the top 20 in his class in the 300m hurdles and the long jump.

Landon is also a very talented football player. He was an All-Conference wide receiver who has racked up over 20 touchdowns and 1500 yards over his career. Landon was named to the Steve Doyle Honor Roll based on his academic achievements.

"Landon is a passionate young man and you can see it in the way he competes and in the way he applies himself in the classroom. We are truly excited to accept him into our Vandal family," said Tim Cawley, Director of Track and Field/Cross Country.
