Crawford, Faith Earn Vandals of the Week

MOSCOW, Idaho – Rahsaan Crawford and Hailey Faith have been named this week's Vandals of the Week, stemming from their exceptional work in the classroom last spring and into this fall.

Crawford, a first-year graduate student with the Idaho football team, completed his undergraduate degree in Broadcast and Digital Media in May. He began working on his Master of Public Administration this summer. Faith is in her second season with the Vandal swim and dive program and is currently boasting a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade-point average in biological engineering.

"Grad school is totally different. It's grown-up school," said Crawford. "My classes are not until like 7 p.m. So I go from having classes at like 8 a.m. all the way to 12 or 2, and now I don't even start classes until 5 p.m., 7 p.m. I'm in class with a bunch of people who are a lot older than me, they have families. So it's a total different ballgame. It's totally different. There's a lot of intellect, it's just a beautiful place to learn."

"I'm in biological engineering. I really love it," Faith said. "It's definitely really dense, and a lot of science and math. It's going to take me a while to finish it, but I really love engineering. My dad's an engineer, so it's just always been around me my whole life. A lot of my family is in the medical field, we have a lot of nurses and my mom's a pharmacist and my grandfather was a doctor, so I kind of wanted to see if I could mix the two."

Both are also doing well this semester, and were quick to thank others for their successes and recognition.

"So far the semester is good. I'm getting more into my major-specific classes. Specifically, my microbiology lab I really love," said Faith. "I'm definitely a hands-on learner, and I like working with the microbes and getting to use the equipment. I'm very thankful that we have the opportunity to come back to school and be able to use it. Everyone is masked up and we wear a lot of PPE, but I think that's definitely my favorite class."

"Huge, huge, huge shoutout to Krista Gray on that one," Crawford said. "She's a hard-working lady. She plugs me in with the classes I need and gets me set up. She loves her job so much, I think that's what makes it a much more rich experience; she just loves her job so much. She just loves helping people out. She definitely helps me with everything, and I wouldn't be so far or so advanced without the help of Krista."
