Box Score MOSCOW, Idaho- The University of Idaho Women's basketball team (15-8,10-4) improved to 10-4 in Big Sky Play with a 65-52 win over Portland State (12-13, 6-9) Monday night in Cowan Spectrum. Five Vandals scored in double-digits, led by
Isabelle Hadden with a season-high 16. The Vandals led by as many as 14 points in the game and held a lead over the Vikings for nearly 32 minutes.
THE GAME
Idaho fell behind to Portland State 5-0 early in the contest. Natalie Klinkler gave the Vandals their first lead of the game, 8-7, following an and-one layup at the 5:57 mark. A pair of
Lizzy Klinker free-throws put the Vandals up by three, 12-9 with 3:22 to play in the first but a 5-0 Portland State run put the Vikings up 14-12. With 37 seconds to go in the period
Isabelle Hadden knocked down two free-throws, tying the game 16-16.
The Vandals outscored Portland State in every period expect the first, including a game-high 18 points in the second.
Hailey Christopher's first bucket of the game opened the scoring for the Vandals less than two minutes into the period, giving Idaho an 18-16 lead. Christopher's second three-pointer of the game capped an 8-0 run, putting the Vandals up 32-22 with 1:43 to go in before half. Hadden added another bucket 40 seconds later to give Idaho a 34-24 lead. Hadden and Christopher scored a combined 10 points in a minute and a half for the Vandals. Portland State scored four straight points to end the period, but Idaho held a 34-28 lead at halftime.
Portland State opened the third period with a three-pointer, but the Vandals responded with an 8-0 run over the next three-minutes.
Beyonce Bea put the Vandals up 11, 42-31, following a steal and a layup with 5:02 remaining in the third period. Idaho would hold their lead through the third period and carried a 49-40 advantage entering the fourth.
Natalie Klinker recorded a double-double at the 6:01 mark after recording her 11
th point of the game. Klinker's free-throws put the Vandals up 14, 59-45, their largest lead of the game. Idaho hit six free-throws in the fourth period to cruise to a 65-52 win.

The Vandals' bench outscored Portland State 27-18 while also shooting 41.4 percent from the field and holding the Vikings to just 29.5 percent from the field.
Idaho finished 4-of-8 from beyond the arc while the Vikings were 6-of-22. At the free-throw line Idaho finished 13-of-17 for 76.5 percent while Portland State was 10-of-12 for 83.3 percent.
Idaho outrebounded the Vikings 41-39 in the contest. Natalie led the way with 11 boards while
Beyonce Bea was one rebound shy of a double-double with nine.
The Vandals forced 14 turnovers and scored 18 points off turnovers, while also dishing out 17 assists.
Gina Marxen and Bea each dished out a team-high four assists.
Idaho outscored Portland State 26-16 in the paint.
THE NAME
Isabelle Hadden led the Vandals in scoring for just the second time this season with a season-high 16 points off the bench. Hadden finished 4-of-10 of the field and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. The senior also grabbed four rebounds and recorded two blocks.

The Vandals will return to the road with two more games this week. The Vandals will travel to Flagstaff, Arizona on Thursday to face the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks at 5:30 p.m. before facing Sacramento State on Saturday.
