MOSCOW, Idaho – University of Idaho women's golf has added two transfers ahead of the 2020-21 season, bringing in
Jaime Bellingham of Auckland, New Zealand, and
Casey Leatherman from Huntsville, Texas.
"I'm excited to add these two excellent student-athletes to finish their careers as Vandals," said Head Women's Golf Coach Lisa Ferrero. "Their experience is really going to help our younger players on the team grow this year. When they entered the portal, looking for a place to play their final seasons, I knew the University of Idaho was the perfect fit and I couldn't be happier to have Jaime and Casey joining the program."
Bellingham spent the last two seasons at UMKC. She finished with the second lowest average on the team at 77.1 and posted the lowest round of any UMKC student-athlete on the year, a 72 at the Little Rock Golf Classic. Bellingham appeared in three tournaments during her first year with UMKC and earned Women's Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholar Team honors.
Bellingham began her collegiate career at Des Moines Community College where she was an NJCAA All-America Second Team honoree as a freshman.
Leatherman competed for Tarleton State for four years, earning honorable mention All-Lone Star Conference honors as a junior in 2018-19. She ranked second on the team in average at 77.1 as a junior and posted a season-best finish of third at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate. Last season, she posted four top-20 finishes in six tournaments, including a seventh-place finish at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate.
Leatherman qualified for the NCAA Regional Tournament as both a freshman and a sophomore. She earned All-Lone Star Conference Second Team honors as a sophomore after posting a school-record 5-under 66 at the LSC Championship.
The Vandals return much of last year's roster, including three All-Big Sky honorees.
