MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho (0-12, 0-9 BSC) men's basketball team fell, 81-56, to Weber State (8-4, 3-2 BSC) on Thursday evening.
THE GAME
The two teams traded buckets to begin the game.
Scott Blakney scored six of the first eight points for the Vandals, and the game was tied, 8-8, with 15:59 remaining in the first. The Wildcats then used a 12-0 run to jump out to a double-digit lead. A basket by
Tanner Christensen with just under a minute until the half cut the deficit to nine points, 37-28, heading into the break.

A three-pointer by
Gabe Quinnett brought the Vandals within seven points with 18:10 remaining, but a 15-2 Wildcat run increased the cushion for the visitors and Idaho was unable to get within single digits again. WSU would ultimately win the game, 81-56.

THE NOTES
Tanner Christensen finished the game with eight points and seven rebounds. The seven boards were a new career-high for the freshman and was also a game high total. Idaho outrebounded Weber State, 33-31.

Scott Blakney finished with 12 points, reaching double figures for the seventh time this year. He also pulled down five boards which tied his season high.

Ja'vary Christmas and
Gabe Quinnett each dished four assists. Christmas has now tallied at least four assists in five different games.

Idaho shot 42.9 percent (24-for-56) from the floor, while WSU was 32-for-63 (50.8 percent).

The Vandals were 5-for-18 (27.8 percent) from beyond the arc, while the Wildcats were 9-for-20 (45.0 percent).

The Vandals were 3-for-4 (75.0 percent) from the line. The Wildcats were 8-for-11 (72.7 percent) from the free throw line.

Damen Thacker was 2-for-2 from the free throw line and has now made his last 30 foul shots. He is shooting 93.8 percent on the year which is the best in the conference and top-10 nationally.

THE NAME
Gabe Quinnett. Quinnett led the Vandals with 13 points. He was 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and 5-for-6 overall from the floor. The sophomore also dished out four assists, which was tied for a team high. He also chipped in one steal and one rebound in 25 minutes.
