MOSCOW, Idaho- The University of Idaho women's basketball team returns to action on Friday, Jan. 8 after a pair of Big Sky games last week. The Vandals (4-4,3-1) return home after three consecutive games on the road to face Southern Utah University (3-2,0-0).

The Vandals (4-4, 3-1) are coming off a road split at Northern Arizona last week. The Vandals opened the season 2-0 after a pair of Big Sky wins before going 1-3 in their non-conference schedule. Idaho faced three Power 5 opponents in their nonconference slate this season including two against ranked opponents; No. 6 Arizona and No. 23 Texas. The Vandals will continue conference play this week at home.
Southern Utah and Idaho enter the series as the two best rebounding teams in the Big Sky. The Thunderbirds are leading on the boards with 44.8 per game while the Vandals are averaging 44.2 rebounds per game.
Idaho is led by five players averaging double-digit points per game led by sophomore and preseason All-Big Sky selection,
Beyonce Bea scoring 15.4 points per game. Just outside the top-five scorers senior
Natalie Klinker is averaging 8.8 points per game and leads the Vandals on the boards averaging a Big Sky best 11.5 rebounds per game. In the past two games Klinker is averaging 13 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Junior
Gina Marxen is Idaho's assist leader this season having totaled 35 assists so far. She is averaging 4.4 assists per game ranking second in the Big Sky. Marxen's efforts have helped Idaho limit turnovers this season as the Vandals are averaging a Big Sky best 12.6 turnovers per game.
Liz Graves leads Southern Utah and the Big Sky averaging 18.6 points per game on the season. Graves, a Weber State transfer, is one of three Thunderbirds scoring in double-digits on the season. Graves and Dari Frandensen lead Southern Utah on the boards each averaging 8.4 rebounds per game. The Thunderbirds are outrebounding its opponents by a margin of 12 rebounds per game. Daylani Ballena leads Southern Utah in assists with 3.0 per game.
Idaho opened conference play with a sweep over Sacramento State while Southern Utah has yet to play a conference game.
Idaho and NAU have played 20 times dating back to 1990. Idaho has won 14 consecutive meetings and leads the series 16-4 all-time. The Vandals hold an 8-2 advantage and have not lost in Moscow since 1996.
