GREELEY, Colo. --Â Â Idaho battled to stay in contention throughout the match before ultimately falling to Northern Colorado in four sets (25-11, 25-18, 25-22, 25-18) at the Bank of Colorado Arena on Tuesday night.
Senior Allison Munday continued to be consistent for the Vandal attack, as she added 16 kills and eight digs to the box score. Middle blocker Bea Whitling made her presence felt on both offense and defense, supplying nine kills and six block assists to help slow down the Bears'.
A slow start by the Vandals had Northern Colorado up early 2-0, heading into the third set.
Idaho stopped the momentum to start the third with a 3-0 run led by the defense at the net. The two teams would go back and forth the remainder of the match before the Vandals would go on a 5-0 run that would decide the third set in favor of the Vandals.
The fourth set saw another heavily contested fight by Idaho, as the two teams sat deadlocked at 16 all. Service errors from the Vandals and a 5-0 run from the Bears proved to be the deciding factor, as Northern Colorado took home the victory.
Idaho issued 37 kills and eight total blocks on the night while the Bears delivered a season-high 11 service aces.
