MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho Vandal football fell to Montana 34-14 Saturday in the Kibbie Dome.
The Vandals jumped out to an early lead after easily driving the field for a score to go up 7-0 on a four-yard score by
Aundre Carter that was set up by a 28-yard run by
Zach Borisch.
Idaho held on to the lead for much of the first quarter with stingy defense, but Montana answered with a score of their own with 1:11 to play in the first and never trailed again. The TD was the first of 34-unanswered points.
Idaho scored with 1:11 left in the fourth on true freshman
Gevani McCoy's first collegiate touchdown, a 14-yard fade to
Mekhi Stevenson. The TD capped an eight-play 86-yard drive.
The Vandals tallied 242 total yards for the game, 161 of those yards coming on the two scoring drives.
McCoy was 8-18 for 123 yards and a touchdown, but also threw a pair of interceptions.
Starting quarterback
Zach Borisch led the Vandals with 44 total yards rushing and was 1-1 for 22 passing.
Stevenson tallies a team-high four receptions for 58 yards and a score.
The Vandals fall to 2-5 on the year and 1-3 in Big Sky play. Montana is now 5-2 overall and 2-2 in league.
