Box Score CHENEY, Wash. - The Idaho women's soccer team nailed a spot in the 2021 Big Sky Tournament after
Savannah Foster's double overtime goal in the 107th minute Sunday afternoon.Â
In the first half of the match, the Eagles didn't wait too long to score the first goal of the game. Eastern's Maddie Morgan scored in the 20th minute, assisted by Grace Terrill. The Eagles kept their momentum going throughout the remainder of the first half, taking a total of 11 shots, allowing
Avrie Fox to rack up two saves.
The Vandals answered back in the second half when
Hannah Alfaro scored in the 45th minute, following a big kick down the field by powerhouse
Sabrina Baca.Â
The teams remained tied throughout the rest of the second half and the entirety of OT1.Â
In the 107th minute,
Alyssa Peters took a corner kick, setting the ball up perfectly for Foster to fire into the net off of a header. This is Foster's third game-winning goal of the season.Â
This win qualifies Idaho for the Big Sky Tournament taking place in Greely Colorado, Nov. 3-7.Â
