MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho Vandal football signed a pair of recruits on the first day of the early signing period. Quarterback Ridge Docekal from Saguaro HS in Arizona and Cade Ledesma, a wide receiver and defensive back from Ventura High School in Ventura, California.

Docekal was the starting quarterback and captain for the Open Division Champion Saguaro Sabercats. He is the latest in a line of Idaho football players from Saguaro, including current Vandals Hayden and
Hogan Hatten. Docekal is a three-star recruit and ranked ninth in the overall Arizona recruiting rankings. He earned All-Region honors from AZ Preps 365 after notching a 71% completion percentage and a 127.8 QBR. He threw for 1,577 yards and 12 touchdowns while throwing just two interceptions all season. Academically, he is a 4.03 student and was named to the AZSports360 All-Academic First Team. Docekal was recruited by running backs coach and recruiting coordinator

Ledesma joins the Vandal football program in the spring after wrapping up the fall at Jireh Prep School. He was rated as a two-start athlete by 247Sports. During his senior season at Ventura, he tallied 96 yards rushing and six touchdowns on the ground in the short, five-game season. He also tallied six receptions for 43 yards.
