Vandals Set for Maui Classic

LAHAINA, Hawaii --The Vandals will head to the Aloha State to play in the fifth annual Maui Jim Maui Classic hosted by Oregon State. This will be Idaho's second appearance in the tournament, the last time they played in the tournament was 2016. They will face Oregon State and Northern Iowa.

The game will be streamed live on Oregon State's website, OSUBeavers.com Live Stats can be found here.

TROUBLE IN PARADISE
The Vandals have not fared well on the Hawaiian Islands. In 2016 Idaho fell to Oregon State and UNLV in the first Maui Jim Maui Classic. In 2018 Idaho traveled to Honolulu, falling to The University of Hawaii 69-61.

THE VANDALS
Idaho is looking to rebound from a 83-43 road loss at No. 11 Texas. The Vandals average 63 points a game and are shooting 34.3 percent from the floor and 31.4 from behind the arc. The Vandals make 9.5 three-point field goals a game which is good for eighth in the nation. Louise Forsyth's 14.1 points a game leads the team in scoring. Beyonce Bea averages 7.6 rebounds a game.

OREGON STATE
The Beavers dropped out of the top-25 this week, but still received votes in the poll. They average nearly 70 points per game and are shooting 42.4 percent from the field. The Vandals will have a tall task defending the basket as OSU has two players standing six-foot nine inches, one at six-foot six and two at six-foot four and will make for an interesting match up for the Vandals.  OSU puts the height advantage to good use, 74 percent of all OSU's field goal attempts are from inside the arc. Of the 153 2-point field goals made, 139 are inside the paint.

NORTHERN IOWA
The 6-3 Panthers are ranked 16th in the mid-major poll.
They average 77.7 points a game whiling allowing just 61. As a team they are shooting 44.2 percent from the floor and have six individuals shooting 40 percent or better. UNI is lead by Kam Finley's 13.6 points per game. Karli Rucker averages 12.2 points and 3.3 assists per game. Cynthia Wolf brings down 6.4 rebounds and Bre Gunnels averages nearly two blocks per contest.

THE 700 CLUB
The Vandals are approaching 700 wins as a program. The 2021-22 season is the 46th season of women's hoops at Idaho with an all-time record of 699-642 (.520 winning percentage)
