Battle of the Palouse Set for Friday

MOSCOW, Idaho –
The Idaho Vandals head to Pullman to take on Washington State in the Battle of the Palouse on Friday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS (2-0-0): Washington State is ranked No. 19 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll. They defeated Seattle U, 2-1, to open the season before beating Eastern Washington, 4-1, last week. Elyse Bennett has scored two goals and chipped in one assist to lead the team with five points. Goalkeeper Marissa Zucchetto (2-0) has made three saves on the year and has a 1.0 GAA.

SCOUTING THE VANDALS (0-1-0): Idaho opened the season with a 3-0 loss to Oregon State. Myah Merino led the Vandals with three shots in the game. Seven freshmen saw their first action in an Idaho jersey.

SERIES HISTORY: Idaho trails the all-time series with WSU, 1-12. The two teams haven't played since 2018, a 3-0 victory for the Cougs in Pullman.

NEXT UP: Following Friday's match, the Vandals will open Big Sky Conference play hosting Montana on March 12 and 14.
