MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho (1-19, 1-16 BSC) men's basketball team fell, 71-61, to Montana State (10-8, 7-5 BSC) on Sunday afternoon. It was Senior Day for the Vandals, with
Ja'Vary Christmas,
Damen Thacker,
Chance Garvin,
Babacar Thiombane, and
Scott Blakney being honored prior to tipoff.
THE GAME
The first half was a back-and-forth affair, with neither team leading by more than four points.
Tanner Christensen had 12 points in the half to lead all scorers. There were five lead changes and eight ties in the first 20 minutes, and the Bobcats took a two-point lead, 32-30, into halftime.

Gabe Quinnett hit the first bucket of the second half, tying up the game, 32-32. However, MSU went on a 15-0 run to lead, 47-32, with just under 15 minutes to play. The Vandals fought back, and seven straight points by
DeAndre Robinson brought the deficit to just five, 54-49, with 9:37 remaining. An 8-2 run by the Bobcats put the visitors back up by double digits, and Idaho was unable to cut further into the lead, ultimately falling, 71-61.

Tanner Christensen led the team with a career-high 12 points.

Gabe Quinnett finished with 10 points, going 4-for-6 from the floor and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. The sophomore has scored in double figures in seven of the last 10 games.

Ethan Kilgore was a perfect 3-for-3 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the free throw line to finish with eight points.

The Vandals failed to win on Senior Day for the first time in 13 years.

The Vandals were outrebounded, 27-23. Robinson led the team with seven boards.
Ethan Kilgore had three offensive rebounds, scoring six second chance points.

Idaho shot 47.7 percent (21-for-44) from the floor, while MSU was 26-for-47 (55.3 percent).

The Vandals were 4-for-10 (40.0 percent) from beyond the arc, while the Bobcats were 4-for-11 (36.4 percent) from three.

The Vandals were a perfect 15-for-15 (100.0 percent) from the line. The Bobcats were 15-for-23 (65.2 percent) from the free throw line. The last time Idaho was perfect from the free throw line was an 8-for-8 night against Northern Colorado last season (1/25/20). The Vandals last shot 100 percent from the free throw line with at least 15 attempts on March 15, 2017, when they were 15-for-15 against Stephen F. Austin.

Tanner Christensen. The freshmen set a new career-high with 12 points. He was 5-for-6 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. He also pulled down five rebounds, dished one assists, and tallied one blocked shot.
