FARMINGTON, Utah – The Big Sky Conference announced the results of the Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Poll today. The Vandal men were selected to finish fifth, while the women were picked seventh.  

Northern Arizona was picked to win the conference on both the men's and women's sides. The men garnered 10 first place votes and 120 points. Montana State was selected second with 91 points, and Southern Utah was picked third with 87 points and one first place vote. Idaho State got 77 votes to finish just ahead of the Vandals who received 74 points to be picked fifth.  

Meanwhile, the Northern Arizona women received five first place votes and 111 points, while Weber State (100 points) garnered one first place vote to get picked second and Sacramento State (99 points) got four first place votes. Montana State (82 points), Idaho State (74 points), and Southern Utah (70 points) were picked fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively, with SUU picking up the final first place vote. Idaho received 61 points to slot in at seventh.

The outdoor season was not competed last year, but in the 2019 season, the Idaho men were fifth with the women finishing ninth. Five Vandals qualified for the NCAA Preliminaries.

The Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships is scheduled for May 12-15 in Ogden, Utah.

The Vandals are next in action this weekend at the Whitworth Invite in Spokane, Wash.
